TE is a truly global player and the interaction is across all levels and geographies, so you get to experience different cultures, different mindsets and approaches. When I first joined TE as part of the Sensors team, I got to experience this first hand

Introduction: I am a Product Management Lead responsible for PowerTube and high-voltage products for the Industrial and Commercial Transportation Industry. Originally from the United States currently I am working and living in Switzerland.

1

Why did you choose to join TE?

I was approached by a recruiter who asked me about relays and sensors and said TE was interested in talking with me. I hadn’t heard of TE before, but he informed me it was "The biggest company you have never heard of". I started interviewing with the Sensors team and what drove me is the fact TE is playing in many exciting industries. Sensors at the time was a growth industry and they were investing significantly into it, building up a team and TE's just got a great culture and a great work environment.

2

What are your customers’ biggest challenges right now?

Our customers need very robust, reliable solutions for these vehicles of the future. So reliability and safety are important topics, especially as we are talking about high voltage.  Fitting solutions to the extreme application needs of the industrial and commercial transportation market requires strong engineering and customers can’t seem to get it fast enough.

3

What industry trends are you most excited about?

The evolution of battery technology and autonomous driving are the trends that I'm most excited about, these technology advancements are forcing a rethinking and a new approach to how these vehicles and architectures are built. And this is really going to transform the transportation market worldwide.

4

Where do you think the truck, bus, and off-road industries will be in 10-20 years from now?

We will see the complete adoption of alternative propulsion technologies whether that be electric, hydrogen, or something else, and hopefully the infrastructure to support the energy demands. I also see a real transformation in the control of these vehicles. Full autonomy will be a reality in many use cases. Most importantly, though, I look forward to seeing what further steps are implemented to really make a meaningful impact on the overall sustainability of these vehicles. This topic needs significant focus.

5

What do you enjoy most about your work?

Undoubtedly the global collaboration with both development groups and customers worldwide. TE is a truly global player and the interaction is across all levels and geographies, so I get to experience different cultures, different mindsets, and approaches. It's a super-inclusive environment and everybody's excited about the industries that we're playing in. And of course, the customer contact that we have on a daily basis at a global level is something special.
